Adopción parcial e integral de las prácticas del sistema técnico de Lean en la industria maquiladora de manufactura en México

Resumen

La adopción adecuada del sistema  de producción Lean permite mejorar el desempeño operativo incrementando la productividad. Esta adopción implica un cambio en la cultura organizacional que requiere de un sistema sociotécnico apropiado para lograrlo.  La literatura indica que la adopción integral de las practicas del sistema de producción Lean es preferible a una adopción parcial de las mismas.  Debido a una falta de consenso en la literatura sobre este tema, y para comprender mejor su técnica, Toyota desarrolló un diagrama simple y representativo de su método de producción: el Templo del Sistema de Producción Toyota (TPS), el cual se considera el fundamento de las practicas técnicas de Lean. El objetivo general de la presente investigación consiste en evaluar el grado de adopción parcial e integral de las practicas del sistema técnico de Lean, con base en el  TPS, en las plantas maquiladoras de manufactura en México.  Los resultados indican que las prácticas del ST de Lean con menor grado de implementación están relacionadas con la técnica de producción de “justo a tiempo” esbozado en uno de los pilares del TPS.  La proporción de plantas maquiladoras de manufactura (PMM) que han realizado una adopción parcial de las prácticas del ST es mayor que aquellas que lo han hecho de forma integral. Finalmente, la proporción de PMM que han realizado una adopción parcial de las prácticas técnicas es mayor que aquellas que lo han hecho de forma integral con alto grado de implementación en cada una de las prácticas bajo estudio.
