Madurez Lean y desempeño operativo en manufactura: una revisión integradora de la literatura

Resumen
Este estudio presenta una revisión integradora de literatura sobre la relación entre la madurez Lean y el desempeño operativo en organizaciones manufactureras. Se aplicó el enfoque metodológico de Whittemore y Knafl (2005), complementado con un análisis bibliométrico mediante VOSviewer para identificar redes de colaboración y temas emergentes. Se revisaron 62 estudios publicados, de los cuales 55 son empíricos y 7 teóricos o metodológicos, seleccionados conforme a criterios de inclusión y calidad previamente definidos. Los resultados evidencian que niveles avanzados de madurez Lean se asocian con mejoras sostenidas en calidad, productividad, costos, flexibilidad y tiempos de entrega. Sin embargo, persisten vacíos en la estandarización de modelos conceptuales, la incorporación de indicadores estratégicos y ambientales y la diversidad metodológica, dada la prevalencia de estudios cuantitativos transversales. En consecuencia, la madurez Lean se consolida como un factor clave para la excelencia operativa, aunque su efectividad depende de la cultura organizacional, el liderazgo y la preparación estructural. Se recomienda avanzar hacia modelos teóricos integradores, promover estudios longitudinales y considerar dimensiones estratégicas y culturales. Desde una perspectiva práctica, Lean debe implementarse de forma progresiva y contextualizada, sustentada en herramientas diagnósticas sólidas e indicadores múltiples que garanticen sostenibilidad y resultados duraderos.
